Beefmaster Cattle

In 2000 we began raising a small herd of crossbred cattle.  Over time, we discovered that the cows with a higher percentage of Brahma retained their weight better after calving, and had superb dispositions.
Four years later, we decided to move towards purebreds.  We chose Beefmaster cattle.

Beefmasters are comprised of 50% Brahma, 25% Hereford, & 25% Shorthorn cattle.  The breed was developed on what has become known as the Six Essentials - Weight, Conformation, Milking Ability, Fertility, Hardiness and Disposition.   Today's Beefmaster breeders continue to strive for the standard of excellence expressed in these six essentials. They also select for calving ease, fast early growth, moderate frame, easy fleshing ability and longevity.  Beefmaster cattle have no color requirements, and can be horned or polled.

Our herd sire, "LC Carlito," BBU #898298, comes from Levi lines, and was born on our ranch in 2004.  We were so happy with his disposition and conformation as a calf, we chose to keep him as our new bull.

His calves have succeeded in the show ring, as herd sires, and as brood cows.  We normally have a few of his calves available for sale, both registered and unregistered, each year.
